In the past month, Israeli forces have been responsible for the deaths of Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip at a rate twice that of the cumulative number of Palestinian children killed in both the occupied West Bank and Gaza since 1967. This information comes from Defense for Children International-Palestine, a non-governmental organization.
On Tuesday, the NGO reported that, in addition to the children killed in Gaza, approximately 1,350 children are unaccounted for under the debris, with the presumption that most of them have lost their lives.
Health officials in Gaza provided the latest figures on Wednesday, revealing that a distressing total of at least 4,324 children have lost their lives due to Israeli bombardment since October 7.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern on Monday, stating that Gaza is tragically turning into a "graveyard for children."
